Workplace - CoQoons Co-working spaces
This project aims to design for a co-working space that encourages collaboration and community participation, while addressing the need for focused work.
In general, I had identify that out of the three criteria, focused work are absent as the present of collaboration and participation contradict with focused work and this is what I am exploring.
Personalization of individual work desk
The feedback from CoQoons tenant and the story from Herman Hertzberger book is that if we can provide the tenant the sense of belonging as an individual, it will encourage them to personalize their desk, thus, increase productivity.
The overall layout rearrangement
The central communal space with pantry, dedicated desk with modular furniture is the place where interaction happen. As such, these spaces are planned in a tidy manner so both the dedicated space and communal space can have a visual interconnection.
This was inspired by the case study in JustCo @ Marina where hot-desking and dedicated desk are not glutted. Spaces like the private office and meeting requires more privacy and therefore are place away from the horizontal center axis of the office floor space.
